Many places around the world are becoming accepting of the LGBTQAI community, but that doesn’t mean that individuals in the Gay, Bi or Queer (GBQ) community feel safe or connected. GBQ men are often filled with anxiety, loneliness and shame. Coming out is a rite of passage that GBQ men often go alone, into a homophobic and heteronormative society, and without mentors to guide them. Consequently, many turn to alcohol, drugs, casual sex and other compulsive behaviors in order to cope with the pain and isolation they feel.
I'm here to let you know, it can get better.
